Morning Hike

The girls and I headed out with Grandma and Grandpa Carman on an early morning hike. They are lucky enough to have a great trail that starts right behind their backyard and heads up to Neff's Canyon. The girls were troopers and we were lucky enough to have a surprise spotting of a baby hawk!

We had a wonderful suprise on the way back home - Lizzie spotted a baby hawk in the bushes just off the path. Momma Hawk was close by circling us in the air.

Finding a Lost Treasure

I forgot about this fun tablecloth my grandma gave me years ago. I was recently cleaning out my linen closet when I came across it. We are now enjoying it on our dinner table. I will have to ask her more about it next week when we see her at her 87th birthday party!

A Day in San Francisco

Lindsay was on-call this weekend and I really wanted to go to this craft fair in SF. Since he can't leave the Sacramento area while on-call I decided to take the girls by myself for a day trip to San Francisco. We had a great time at the fair and we were lucky enough to catch a Mucca Pazza Concert. They are this fun punk marching band out of Chicago. All in all our adventure was a huge success!

Second Saturday art walk

Every Second Saturday of the month downtown Sacramento has an art walk. They have open galleries, many empty spaces turned into galleries just for the night, music, food and great people watching. We took the girls this past Saturday evening and had a great night.

Summer Freedom

We went with our friends the Chinchiolos to an outdoor evening concert at our racquet club. The weather was cool and the kids were so happy to be outside in the summer air. Can't you just remember those summer nights as a kid?
